WILD STRAWBERRY Handgrip Plate - Amethyst.

WILD STRAWBERRY Handgrip plates: having (12 berries) are more scarce in marigold than in amethyst and green. Four-three petaled flowers are seen among the leaf design. These are 7”-7 ½” in size. The Basketweave exterior accompanies these pieces, and the Northwood trademark is usually apparent.

WILD STRAWBERRY Vt. Handgrip Plate-Ameth
WILD STRAWBERRY Variant Handgrip Plate - Amethyst.

WILD STRAWBERRY Vt.  Handgrip plate:  having only (8 berries) and no leaf design in center. The beautifully iridized example known to be in the Steve and Glen Thistlewood collection is certainly the epitome of “Iridescence is the Essence”! The example of that plate shown here leaves a lot to be desired!  It would seem that this design was a “test” piece since so few are known..

The Memphis pattern was in production during the non-iridized crystal and colored ware available in 1908 when the iridescent era began. Memphis is one of the very few “cut” patterns within the Northwood line.

Dean & Diane Fry, April 2014

I will lift my eyes to the hillsI will lift my eyes to the hillsI will lift my eyes to the hills
I lift up my eyes to the hills----
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watchers over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
the Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all harm---
he will watch over your life,
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore. (Psalm 121)
I will lift my eyes to the hillsI will lift my eyes to the hillsI will lift my eyes to the hills
