HOBSTAR & FEATHER Rosebowl (and variations): Prices realized for these various distortions of what was originally the giant rosebowl are somewhat “curious, to say the least”! These auction prices dating from 1991 are good examples of a lack of understanding when it comes to “acceptable production standards.” A bit of rationale, with regard to the approach for making a sale: Following presentation of the rosebowl shape to a potential customer by the factory salesmen of that era: do you REALLY believe any of the distortions would be accepted in a shipment?? Not very likely! And perhaps it would also negate placement of any FUTURE ORDERS!

ROSE COLUMN Vases: Standing 10” tall, with a diameter of 5” across the opening, this is the only Millersburg item presenting such delicate design. Perhaps the thin extruding “roses”, which often display damage, is the reason so few are known to exist. The amethyst vase having fired-on red, green and gold colors is believed to be experimental. Only two blue vases have been reported. About eight are known in marigold. Possibly a dozen each have been reported in amethyst and green.

GAY NINETIES Pitcher: This pattern is extremely rare, overall! A single green pitcher and three amethyst pitchers are the extent known! Quite a few amethyst tumblers exist. Only three marigold tumblers are known.

WHIRLING LEAVES Bowl: The variety of sizes and shapes having outstanding color and emphatic iridescence makes it a fairly easy pattern to attain! It is found in both satin and radium finishes, indicating it was one of the earliest of patterns, utilizing the exterior design of Fine Cut Ovals. Both 9” and 10” bowls having either ice cream shape, six-ruffles, crimped edges, square, tri-corner, deep round berry bowl shape, along with the rare diamond shape. Amethyst, green, and marigold, along with three blue, and four Vaseline carnival bowls are known.
Green HOBNAIL Tumbler - Sold for $900.
HOBNAIL Tumbler: Items in the Hobnail pattern are extremely scarce. Although known in table sets, complete sets are virtually never available. A rose bowl, spittoon, and vase are known in this pattern. Pitchers are known in amethyst, blue and marigold. Overall, green is the rarest color in any of the shapes.
