LOUIS XIV: This is a beautifully, elegant pattern named appropriately for the era of its use. Shown in LUNA ivory in Harry Northwood – The Wheeling Years by Heacock, Measell & Wiggins. The examples displayed here, illustrates Northwood’s “pearl” iridization. #42 seen in the fitter, refers to the pattern number for the smaller size shades (4). #45 refers to the larger, central shade used in the ceiling fixture. The pattern consists of 4 ornate inverted hearts, each having a large palm-like leaf at the apex, and two at the base. Within the heart, above the leaves at the base, there is a narrow arched ridge which crosses near the center and resembles a pair of tongs. #42 measures 4 ¾” in height, and 5 ¼” in diameter at the scalloped bottom. They are iridized inside and out.
Greg Dilian, a collector from Long Island, NY contacted us following his recent (May 2011) “find” of 5 matching shades. Shortly afterwards, he found the perfect fixture for the shades at an antique lighting store on Long Island. It is a two tone metal fixture made in the U.S. in 1915, which basically matches the Northwood. manufacturing date for the shades. “ The store owner looked at the shades and asked where I had found them? He was in shock when I told him Brimfield! He estimated retail value of the set would be $600-$750; more when attached to the appropriate fixture.”
Smoke - (signed NUART) - PLAIN or SMOOTH PANELS pattern.
Nuart PLAIN: Carl O. Burns’ reference: Absolutely plain and un-patterned. It is signed Nuart and appears to be smoke over amber glass. It is known in marigold and has been found only in the electric style shade.
Smoke Imperial BUZZ SAW Shade.
BUZZ SAW: Found in both electric and gas styles. This Imperial shade is known in marigold, smoke, amber and helios. All are said to be quite rare.
Nuart FOUR PANELS Shade -

FOUR PANELS: Shown on page 3 of the Archer Imperial Glass Collectors book, the size is listed at 2 ¼”.
Nuart STIPPLED (CLEAR PILLARS).
Nuart STIPPLED or CLEAR PILLARS: There are six clear, raised pillars which separate panels of heavily textured stippling.
Known only in marigold in the electric style shade.
Luna or PEARL LADY Exterior Northwood #38,

PEARL LADY: This is said to be a Northwood shade in the Luna line, dating to 1912 production. Satiny translucent off-white is a good description.
Imperial PRIMROSE PANELS.
PRIMROSE PANELS: This is known only in the electric style shade in a soft, frosted satin marigold.
Imperial Nuart BLOCK and DAISY.
BLOCK & DAISY: Helen Greguire called this NUART shade Imperial Daisy, but it is probably better known by the more descriptive term, Block & Daisy. It was made in both the gas & electric sizes. They have a stippled external surface with 6 narrow circular, and 18 vertical ridges that divide the surface into 6 rows of small block that encircle the shade. Each row has 18 blocks; each block with a 1/8 inch elevated square at its center. The vertical ridges extend down beyond the squares to near the scalloped, fluted bottom of the shade, each ridge ending there in a 10 pointed “daisy”. The shades measure 4 7/8 inches in height. They are iridized inside and out.
A vase was made from the same mold. It is identical to the shade, but, unlike the shade, doesn’t have the fitter end cut out. The only ones I have seen have been in ice green. (Statement, Courtesy Roy Hieger)
Imperial CORAL SHELL signed Nuart. 1920-1928.
CORAL SHELL: This shade was named by Helen Greguire, but collectors unfamiliar with her designation often call it Scales. Examples marked NUART have been found, confirming Imperial as the maker. It is an attractive bell shaped shade, found in marigold and pastel marigold. The outside is lightly frosted, but otherwise smooth. On their radium interior they are covered with row upon row of overlapping small scales. They begin just below the fitter, and extend to the broadly scalloped bottom of the shade, each row getting a little larger as they approach the bottom. The shade measures 4 ¼ inches in height, 5 inches in diameter at the bottom, and has a 2 ¼ inch fitter. The Coral Shell shade is known only in the electric size illustrated. Though not common, with a little looking they can be found; occasionally in sets of 4. (Statement, Courtesy Roy Hieger).

1. The Bema Seat of Christ, where the works of believers are judged for rewards (1 Cor. 3:1015, 2 Cor. 5:10)
2. The judgment of the Old Testament saints (Dan. 12:1-3)
3. The judgment of Satan and his demons (Jude 6; Rev. 20:10)
4. The last judgment, also known as the Great White Throne judgment (John 5:22,27,29);(Rev. 20:11-15)
The final judgment will be for all those who have died without Christ.
