American Carnival Glass Association (ACGA) Annual Convention
The Club convened in Derby, Ohio this year (2011) at Embassy Suites Hotel from June 15 through the 18th. Our thinking is that perhaps many collectors who have not become associated with large groups and attended one of the several gatherings each year around the Country, might enjoy viewing some of the educational aspects from doing so.
![]() There are always window and room displays of special pieces laid out in individual rooms. Awards are presented to the top three or four displays which offer much thought and inspiration. Larry and Debbie Yung certainly spent a great amount of time developing their “Harvest of Grapes” and when votes were counted, they received the top award.
![]() Stacy and Des Wills set the three versions of Hobstar and Feather rosebowls in their window.
![]() Although Aaron and Arlene Hurst presented one of the Seminars, Donnie and Sharon Royle helped by bringing some of their collected examples for discussion. We have shown part of the assemblage of attendees who arrived to benefit from the educational discussions.
![]() The other photos in this segment display many unusual items; certainly not examples seen with any regularity, other than in collections. Seminar presenters always take questions from the audience as well.
It is our hope that more of our viewers will decide to become a part of this area of collecting.
