DIAMONDS:  In addition to amethyst, green and marigold sets, aqua has been reported. These are said to be the easiest of Millersburg Water Sets to find. We might add that this does not by any means indicate that there will be one available in every half dozen auctions! No, they are not quite that easily found. Marie McGee mentions an “odd” pitcher “made” without a pouring spout, known in amethyst and green carnival. This story somehow “spouts” of “polishing off” damage after breakage sometime after production? What do you think?

MORNING GLORY:  Only tankards and tumblers are found in this pattern. The tankard stands about 11” tall and is usually found to have radium finish of extremely fine quality. Colors are amethyst, green and marigold in carnival glass, with green being the most difficult to locate. Rated among the rarest of all Millersburg water sets, Morning Glory is seldom offered for sale. Four amethyst tankards are known, only one in green and three in marigold. Market value and prices paid have always been very high because of the rarity and intense desirability.

FEATHER & HEART Pitcher
is 7 in. tall - Purple.

FEATHER and HEART:  This pattern is exclusive to water sets with pressed/cut design in heavy glass. Amethyst and marigold colors are seen more often than green examples. The few vaseline examples sometimes lack good color and complete sets are difficult to correlate. One vaseline pitcher in this pattern sold for $14,000 in Oct. 1994. A spittoon-type whimsey made from a tumbler was also sold.

HOBNAIL:  Highly desirable in any color, tumblers and pitchers in this pattern are rare in any color. Blue Millersburg is always considered rare/scarce, but in the case of water sets in green Hobnail pattern, rarity comes into being. Amethyst and marigold examples are only slightly less rare. They may be traded behind the scenes, but very seldom ever emerge for an auction turnover.

Dean & Diane Fry    8/08

Now his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Spirit, and prophesied, saying:
“Blessed is the Lord God of Israel, for He has visited and redeemed
His people, and has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house
of His servant David, as He spoke by the mouth of His holy
prophets, who have been since the world began, that we should be
saved from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us, to
perform the mercy promised to our fathers and to remember His
holy covenant, the oath which He swore to our father Abraham;
To grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies,
might serve Him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before
Him all the days of our life.” “And you, child, will be called the
prophet of the Highest;  for you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways, to give knowledge of salvation to His people by
the remission of their sins, through the tender mercy of our God,
with which the Dayspring from on high has visited us; to give light to
those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet
into the way of peace.” So the child grew and became strong in
spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his manifestation to Israel.
(Luke 1:67-80)
