CRACKER JAR in bold Marigold!

CRACKER JAR, covered: Marigold and amethyst can be found with little effort. Cobalt blue, white, smoke, ice green examples are rare, with aqua opalescent considered extremely rare. No green or ice blue jars have been found as yet.
Stippled cracker jars are rarely seen and reported only in marigold, to date.
The Fall 1910 Butler Bros. Wholesale Catalog displays the cracker jar in company with two sizes in the fruit bowl, a banana bowl and a “19” mammoth rustic embossed vase”, which in terms of carnival glass means a funeral vase in Tree Trunk.
The cracker jar is shown in the ad and noted to be available in “burnished metallic violet iridescent and golden sunset hues.”

Trays having the scalloped edge are seen most often. Trays were marketed as part of the six-piece dresser set. Amethyst and marigold colors are more prevalent. Green is scarce. Ice blue trays are seldom found and very few white examples are known.
Smooth edge trays have a ½” wide, raised band which encircles the edge. This type has been reported only in amethyst and marigold.

HUMIDOR:  Sometimes referred to as a tobacco jar. The underside of the lid has three prongs for holding a moistened sponge. Most often seen in marigold and amethyst, these jars lack handles. Cobalt blue is scarce. Two extremely rare aqua-opalescent examples are known.
The stippled jars are most often found in cobalt blue, with marigold examples somewhat more difficult to locate.

Dean and Diane Fry - 05 - 2009

Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lists which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ's appearing, which he will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. 1 Timothy 6:6-16
