The Harvest Filigree Edge Candy Boxes are better known to collectors as the Lace Edge Candy or spooner. The blue was introduced in 1971 and the gold and green carnival came later. The glass "lace" is beautiful and it has a dual purpose. It could be used as a very pretty covered candy dish or the twelve "slots" will hold twelve little spoons.

Demitasse spoons work the best, thus the name "spooner". The idea was to fill the pretty dish with jam or relish and each guest could take a little spoon and help themselves. I have used mine like this on special holidays. It makes a very impressive little server.

These measure about 6 1/2 inches tall and about 6 inches across the top. They were made in all three carnival colors, blue, gold and lime green.
