Segment 14
Proposed: Three building auction complex, with hotel on 156 acres South of Indianapolis, to serve the 5- state area of all auction needs.
Right half, West elevation cut view A A thru the 4 bleacher stairs from the main floor to the arena.
There is an 8 walkway around the entire building above the bleachers that exits out onto the patios at each end of the building. Also the bridge coming from the hotel and mall areas is the same elevation. There are two 8 wide stairs leading down to the bleacher seats for easy access as shown on the plans.
Shown is the right side of the car auction house cut away view A A, so you can see the stairs beside the wall separating the bleachers from the stairs down to the arena floor elevation. This same design applies to both ends of the arenas. The 6 walkway goes around the entire inside of the building at the same elevation as the arena. This walkway leads to the restrooms and office area under the bleachers, also to the tunnel to the middle of the bleachers that are outside. One half of the 25 x 15 high car entrance rail carriage opening to the building is shown with cars on the rail carriage. The tunnel leading to the car opening is 50 x 85 long with the enclosed patio above, and this is not shown on the presented drawings. 8 each 2 sq. concrete wall columns under the patio floor supporting a 2' wide 3' high 50' long reinforced concrete beam across the tunnel using the same design as the basement in the hotel ceiling. Refer to segment # 7 for more detail of the floor support and the pan structure used.
Detail of the tilt up panels is shown, and the attachment to the wall. The roof structure is supported by 16 each 8 square steel 48# tube columns that support the roof structure. Between the outside columns that support the purlins are 24+ x 9 x 2 W/F steel I beams. Between the inside columns are open beams 4 x 25 - + using 3 angle irons back to back with 2 angle iron bridging. This makes a level platform over the entire building to receive the 23' 2 x 50 sections, made with 2 sq. steel tubing with sufficient bracing for the structure. Plans and detail will be shown in a later drawing.
The 23'2''x50' units will be pre made on the ground, and then lifted as one assembly then bolted in place. After one side of the building is in place the same operation will move to the other side of the building, and will continue until all sections are in place.
The frame work is made of 2 steel tubing 23 2 wide by 50 long with a top curvature of 146 radius to receive the 2 x 13 clear or a slight tint beige fiberglass corrugated sheets with a 6 top lap and 2 side lap between the sheets. The frame work will be braced in such a way for rigidity to support the fiberglass panels, and to support the 4 x 12 solar panels on a 45 degree angle to the sun. The 2 tube frame will be attached to the side of the main frame on both sides in the drainage gutter as not interfere with drainage from the roof panels. Details to follow in more refined drawings.
Each car carrier 40 long will have 2 each 20 rotating platforms that turn 1 revelation a minute to display the cars or trucks as they pass in front of the bleachers for bidding. Each car carrier will be pulled with an electric tow motor that does not give off any exhaust. Refer to segment # 10 for more details. There will be an electrical tract in the arena floor, to pick up the current for the motors that turn the rotating platforms. The device will drop down when the rail car reaches a certain place and retracts at the other end of the arena.
For the cooling of this building refer to segment # 9 utilizing the low volume cool air from the ground.
