Segment 08
Proposed: Three building auction complex, with hotel on 156 acres South of Indianapolis, to serve the 5- state area of all auction needs.
North East center, of the right side elevation of the hotel.
Shown are the hotel room porches with the statues in place. Doors in the basement for loading and unloading auction merchandise as well as mall items. The roman design is carried throughout the hotel as well as the other structures. Three types of Greek column capitals will be used. Doric on the basement, Ionic on the first to the third floor, and then a Corinthian capitol on the fourth floor. Working drawings and specifications will be discussed in other segments.
All we are trying to do in these segments is to convey the overall intention and a visual view of the conception of all the buildings. It is difficult to draw in fine detail the entablature, which is above the Doric capital that includes the plain architrave right above the capital, then the frieze, and above the frieze the cornice. Top of the frieze is the first floor elevation and the platform to hold the statues. The entablature is incorporated in the first tilt up panel.
There will be a 4 watt low voltage 6 bulb fixture with a screw type lens on the exterior base below the columns on each side of the hotel room outside. There will be 4 lights total per column with 1 light on each floor in the base support of the column. Colors to be determined later but leaning toward white. This light will not reflect back into the room.
There will be one non-moveable window 3 wide x 5 high and 3 above the floor on each porch wall with frosted glass for privacy and beside the window 2 away will be the door to the porch. A 3 high window sill will allow furniture to be placed in front of the window. All window frames are cast concrete decorative designs inside and out and bolted through the wall to each other. A Greek key design would work well with this application. With one window with frosted glass in the bedroom this will allow for one window covering to block out the light instead of a sheer and then a drape. Privacy will be accomplished and the light entering the bedroom will be reduced to a minimum for a better nights sleep.
On each end of the porch a 6 concrete wall will be an integral part of the room extending out to make the porch wall. A ½ recessed 6x 6 into the wall will allow a 2 ½ sand casting to be bolted to the wall for art decoration. The object of the program is to have as much maintenance free surroundings as possible. The porch floor will have numerous designs like Greek key floor border 8 wide 2 thick in 6 strips and placed in thin set or some other type adhesive to level the design to the floor level. The fill in material will be crushed colored glass and a polymer and ground to smooth finish. An unlimited amount of designs will be made by artisans and brought to the site, and then placed in their designated places. All wall bases will be 3 high and recessed ¾ in from the wall and with a 2 radius to the floor. This will allow cleaning right up to the wall. As you have noted in all hotel rooms, the first signs of wear appear on the baseboard.
As hotel rooms receive wear and need refurbishing after a period of time, this will reduce the time it takes to replace the mattress, recover the chairs on the porch, bedroom, and living room by unzipping the cover and applying another with a different design. All chairs will be made of colored concrete, and have a colored cover to match the décor of the room.
The first place that shows wear is the painted wood baseboard, wood cabinets like in the bathrooms, so eliminate all painted surfaces. The next most repulsive thing is the carpet. We will not have carpet in this hotel but instead put a few more dollars into the type of floor throughout the hotel. Maybe, there could be a throw rug in the bedroom between the beds. This has been discussed in other segments. The thing that turns most guests off is the grout in the bath areas that has turned mildew blue by using poor craftsmanship, where nothing fits like it should, just fill it in with grout and get your money and leave.
In our hotel the bathroom will consist of two lavatories on one side and a makeup counter on the opposite wall. Divided from the lavatories will be the shower and toilet. The toilet area can be closed off with a door. The bath room will be one piece molded fiberglass with 3 curvatures in all corners including the vanity.
Will discuss in detail how it will be built and lifted in placed. This is a major development of this project.
Sodom and Gomorrah Destroyed
And there came two angles to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;
And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servants house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we abide in the street all night.
And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.
But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:
And called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? Bring them out unto us, that we may know them.
And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,
And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you , bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing, for therefore come they under the shadow of my roof.
